Governor Recognizes Innovation, Creativity
Ohio Governor Ted Strickland visited the COATC to tour the Boeing Virtual Manufacturing Center. His visit focused on workforce innovation and creativity.

Chamber Tours Samuel Manu-Tech
For the first time, Samuel Manu-Tech opened the doors to its new, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant to the general public. The tour with community leaders was part of a Chamber of Commerce-led tour of industrial sites and buildings.

The COATC is well-represented in the state capitol to show support for the aerospace industry in Ohio.

D.C. Fly-In Set
Recognizing the importance of "cementing relationships to cement jobs," the public-private partnership that epitomizes the Port Authority coordinated a series of meetings with key Ohio Congressional delegation members and staff.

Projects Advance
Construction season begins for the Port Authority with business development projects advancing along with future-looking capital improvements getting underway. Over $6 million is budgeted for capital improvements in 2008.

Small Business Locates in March, Expands in April
In late March, Place K, an internet-based seller of consumer electronics, came to COATC. The company principals signed a lease on Building 125 on the southwest side of the Base Campus of the COATC March 24 and came back April 21 to sign a lease on their second on-site building. The small business has been, up until last month, run out of the home of the company's father, mother, and son trio.

Small Business Locates at COATC
Place K, a consumer electronics internet sales small business, chose the COATC for a building location. The company signed a lease on building on the Base Campus of the COATC. The family-owned business that had been operating out of the family's home, will employ five people.

Topping the List, Again
The COATC retained its status among the Top 25 largest industrial parks in Central Ohio, ranking 14th according to the March 2008 list published by Columbus Business First.

Ohio Tops in New Plants, Expansion
Site Selection magazine awarded Ohio the #1 ranking for the second year in a row for new plants and expansions. The Boeing VMC project announced at the COATC was among the 399 projects that helped Ohio beat out its competitor states for what is called the "Governor's Cup" awarded every year by the development publication.
